Firm History

With many years of experience in personal injury litigation, we have been able to build a solid base of experience, resources and success in a complex field of law. During the 1940s, Leon RisCassi established a busy law practice in Hartford, combined with his active involvement in Connecticut politics where he was Senate minority and majority leader. Mr. RisCassi was joined in 1955 by William R. Davis, and the two quickly built a strong practice, handling personal injury claims. Forty-seven years later, Bill Davis remains active in our practice and in the legal community.

Attorneys Jim Bartolini, Andy Groher, and Michael Jainchill all joined the practice in the 1970s, followed shortly thereafter by John Houlihan, Kathy Calibey and Dave Cooney. Today, we have eleven attorneys and an extensive support staff, filling our office at 131 Oak Street, which was built specially for our firm, when the State of Connecticut built a courthouse on the site of our first office.

Throughout its history, RisCassi and Davis, P.C. has been committed to helping victims of accidents, injuries and medical malpractice. By following the link to our practice areas, you will find a guide to the types of cases we most commonly handle.
