Jim Bartolini and Patrick Kennedy win $3 million verdict in workplace injury

On March 20, 2008, a New London jury awarded $3 million to a client of RisCassi & Davis, P.C., a painter injured when he fell down an unprotected stairway opening in a home undergoing renovation. The verdict was obtained against the general contractors on the project. One of the plaintiff's claims was that the defendants had violated a well-known construction safety rule requiring that a barricade block the opening before stairs are removed. The defendants had denied liability and alleged that the plaintiff negligently caused his own injuries but the jury did not agree.

Jim Bartolini and Patrick Kennedy of RisCassi & Davis, P.C. were the trial attorneys, and the firm congratulates them both.
