Each holiday season for the last seven years, the Hartford law firm of RisCassi and Davis has partnered with Coach Jim Calhoun to give back to our community. We support all of Coach Calhoun’s charitable work – including his efforts to raise significant dollars for cancer and cardiac research at the UConn Health Center.
On December 19th of this year, our entire staff worked throughout the day and evening with Coach Jim Calhoun, his family, coaches, players, Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra, the City of Hartford Department of Families, Children, Youth & Recreation and the City of Hartford Department of Health & Human Services to provide holiday meals for 1,000 needy Hartford families. Meals included a 15 pound turkey and all the fixings and families from throughout Hartford came to Pope Park Recreation Center and St. Monica Episcopal Church to receive them.
It is our goal in 2012 to work with Coach Calhoun to expand the number of families and neighborhoods helped by this effort.
