RisCassi & Davis Investigating DePuy Hip Replacement Claims

RisCassi & Davis is currently is helping people who have been injured by metal on metal hip replacement products made by DePuy Orthopedics, Inc. If you have a DePuy ASR, DePuy ASR XL, or DePuy Pinnacle hip replacement or hip resurfacing system and are experiencing problems with the device, you should consult with an attorney at RisCassi & Davis.

DePuy has recalled two hip replacement products: the ASR Hip Resurfacing System and the ASR XL Acetabular System. Patients who have received the DePuy artificial joint implants have experienced pain and difficulty walking. This is often the result of loose cups, allergic reactions to metallic debris, and the development of a pseudotumor (a soft tissue mass that forms as a result of toxic reactions to an excess of metal debris). Many patients are requiring repeat surgical procedures to correct these problems.

Though it has not been recalled, there is mounting evidence that the DePuy Pinnacle Acetabular Cup System has similar defects to the recalled DePuy ASR system. Many are suggesting that this will be the next DePuy product recalled as there have been numerous complaints from Pinnacle hip system recipients regarding unexplained hip pain, difficulty standing or walking, loss of mobility, loosening of the joint, dislocation, and infection. Many of these patients are also requiring repeat surgical procedures to correct these problems.

If you have any of these DePuy products and are experiencing problems you should contact an attorney. It is best to retain an attorney before undergoing a revision surgery so that potentially important evidence can be preserved. Further, by law, there is a limited period of time in which you may bring legal action against DePuy for a failed hip system.
