RisCassi & Davis has recently settled several cases against St Francis Hospital and Medical Center on behalf of victims of childhood sexual abuse. Attorneys Michael Jainchill and Paul Iannaccone have successfully resolved cases on behalf of several victims of George Reardon, a former physician at St Francis. Reardon, an endocrinologist employed by St Francis, used a child-growth study as a subterfuge for abusing hundreds of children at his office located inside the Hospital. The abuse inflicted upon these children was documented in photographs hidden in the basement wall of Reardon’s former home in West Hartford and discovered after his death. The clients represented by our law firm suffered some of the most serious and long-lasting psychological effects of this abuse and the prosecution of the cases required compassion and concern for the impact upon the victims and their families. Attorney Jainchill was one of five members of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee responsible for the management of the litigation of almost 100 claims on behalf of clients represented by several law firms. Almost all of the cases have now been resolved.
